Our Time in Cambodia

IMG_4412

Cambodia was a challenge for us, but a rewarding one. I think we all left with a renewed appreciation for the strength of the human spirit.

Our travel report is here.

Hi, I’ve subscribed to your blog since before you left home and really enjoy reading about your journey. We are planning to visit Cambodia on our rtw trip in a couple of years, and I was wondering how your children coped with the Killing Fields and the Genocide Museum. How much did you tell them? Best wishes

@Victoria,

You raise an issue Dani and I were concerned about. We thought we wouldn’t take the kids to the Genocide Museum and the killing fields – but when the time came, it was so apparent to us that they could handle it – the full story – including US involvement in the secret bombing of Cambodia. We just told them the whole truth as we understood it, and they seem to have absorbed it all. It made our Cambodia experiences all the more meaningful.
