Hi
im a student from newaygo high school,
in newaygo MI.
Im writing a thematic analysis paper for english. We just recently read
“Esperaza Rising”, and it had the qualities of your journey pattern.
I read over some of your writings
online and i understnad why my teacher uses your journey idea. Hes much like you in his outlooks in life. But I really am just writing because I would like your imput to what you think is a magical companion.
In esperanza rising, i want to say isabel is the magical companion because shes someone who greatly effected esperanzas life, but whats there special meaning? why are they cherished so much?
Don’t know about magical companions, but I will say this…
One of the important ideas in Esperanza Rising is that releasing your possessions opens new paths.
Two key pieces of advice that Esperanza gets:
“Do not ever be afraid to start over.”
“…wait a little while and the fruit will fall in your hand.”
Lastly (and obviously) there is significance in Esperanza’s name itself… Esperanza = hope in Spanish…
Hopefully hope is rising all around 🙂
