Overheard in LAX
Terminal 7, Gate 78 at Los Angeles International Airport, waiting to board an early morning flight to Kona, Hawaii, two twenty-somethings in conversation:
When I was a kid, breakfast at McDonald’s and a day at the park – now that was a great day,” said the traveler as he unwrapped an Egg McMuffin.
“It still doesn’t get any better than that,” his friend agreed as he took a bite of his breakfast sandwich.

sooo sad…
Why is that “sooo sad”? Food often triggers wonderful memories, especially of happy, simpler times as a child.
A little context… When I heard these two guys talking, I was struck by how wistful they were for a day from their childhood…
I appreciated the simplicity of what constituted a “great day” for them…
I am all for simple memories. I guess I was just alittle sad mcdonald’s constituted a good day for them.
Don’t be sad – check out over heard in NY: http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/ and chuckle like mad! I’m not sure which is more funny, the overheard snippets of conversation or the titles they come up with. (Note: Not kid-friendly material on this site.)
