Our Time In Israel
Israel proved to be one of the most interesting and rewarding stops on our round the world trip.
Even in the short time we spent there, it shifted our world view, giving us a much more informed context for understanding a country and a region that is so easily misunderstood.
It is a fascinating place, where visitors can easily immerse themselves in ancient history, religious philosophy and the roots of Western civilization.
Our report and recommendations on travel to Israel is posted here.

When you were planning your trip did you think Israel was going to be the place that left the biggest impression on you and your family? Compared to the rest of your adventures you weren’t there very long but as an avid reader of The Wide Wide World I can see it was one of your best stops.
@Doug – Honestly, before we left home I was leery of traveling to Israel. I don’t think we would have put it on the itinerary if it hadn’t been for the Habermans (our friends there). But to not go would have been a mistake – and I (re)learned an important lesson – the world is not what you see on TV – it’s much richer, more nuanced, more complex than that. From now on, I’ll be encouraging people to get out into The Wide Wide World.
I hear that my friend.
